Straight-Shootin’ Man: Stumble Upon Purposeful Great Expectations
I’m not a spineless laid back bachelor, traditionally interested in sitting at home alone every weekend. It’s unlikely nobody have never pegged me to write a ramble about great dating and companionship. Go figure.
Idleness is an unfortunate foreign condition and intentionally absent from my genetics. Even so, Winter of 09 was an exception, I had to put the breaks on a 3-year relationship which meant a lot for us but just deadended for both of us. Therefore you would say it has been a while since I dated. I can’t find the great expectations in relationships I held years ago.
I’m not used to being single. I know one thing, I won’t sit tight, peacefully watching Battlestar Galactica on DVD. The real reason for this bout of incidental dating lameness? The people I know are settling down, and most ladies I meet at work are taken.
My take-no-holds hunting pal, Jim, who will never have dating apathy, sympathized because he is currently in a similar place. He introduced me to this Dallas dating service called Great Expectations. Of course, I can’t argue with introductions with delightful singles who meet my values. Go figure, I put myself on a plan and paid the membership fee to get started.
Be honest, ya can’t feel down by not having plans if you haven’t tried to meet anyone. Just like our senior year basketball coach Jason Simms repeated to no end grinning, “When the ladies don’t bite, bite them first, shooter.”
Coach was crazy, and a little out of touch. Still, the old guy was right in a good old fashioned way. He meant well to everyone. This care-free series of Dallas singles events I just went to might have short circuted the old man’s brain.
Through great expectations I met a ton of quality and appealing women that catch my eye. I truthfully had a blast with dozens of intelligently noteworthy men and women. Called it a night with a sweet farewell, and as a plus, I developed some political relationships for my career. Very cool.
Take action. You won’t win if you don’t try. Don’t sell yourself short, you might as well have great expectations for life’s sake.
Live It Up!
Caleb
